Welcome back to all those who left our community for the warmer shores elsewhere in the country. We enjoyed a reasonably decent winter overall, with very little snow, and as a result little damage to our trees, and our storm drains. Its been cool but the weather has permitted landscapers to get out and begin to get their work done a little early, and we have also taken advantage of the good weather to do our Special Maintenance and Village Spring cleaning.

We suffered through a Patriot season that looked like it was going all the way, but alas, in the end, it was not to be, but we have our Red Sox, and Celtics. The Bruins gave it a good try as well, but in the final analysis it was like deja vu of the 70's with Montreal.
The economy has been quite funky, and the housing market has been almost a disaster, but there are signs that things may have bottomed out or close to it. We have seen some "bargains" for New Seabury on the block. New building continues and the Sea Quarters condos are selling like hot cakes, so it’s a mixed bag. New Seabury is continuing to put up some beautiful homes and our Flat Pond area is going to be a very nice spot. There is no question that we continue to be a very desirable community.

I am looking forward to the better weather. It appears that several Villages are planning a "get together" this summer, and I am going to finagle an invitation if I can. This is my swan song, i.e. – this is the end of my third year and so we will be putting together some good information about progress for our Annual Meeting. I am hopeful that we get another great turn out in August at the Country Club. This is your community, and I can’t be more pleased at the past participation both at Village Meetings as well as our Annual Meeting.
We are making arrangements for our second annual Homeowners Golf Tournament, so get your name in quickly. This is a very popular event and it is filling up fast. If you aren’t interested in chasing a little ball around, come join us for dinner. We also have ideas for having a few more "community events" this year so stay tuned.
All in all, with the ups and downs of any community, we seem to be making strides. Great volunteers, and a great team in the Council and ARC keep things going in the right direction. Welcome back, and hello to all those who stuck around this year. I look forward to meeting those of you I haven’t yet met out and about this year.
Have a great 08.

ARC DISPLAY ROOM
The ARC office has an excellent display room for all the approved colors for your home, roofing shingles, samples of railing and deck systems, wind/hurricane protection for your windows and building materials. We are very excited about some of the new products available for decks and railing as it requires less maintenance but still enhances the beauty of your home. Since all the samples are available for your review, you only have a short distance to go. Please feel free to drop by the ARC office (9:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.) to take a look!
NEW EMAIL ADDRESSES FOR ARC AND PENINSULA COUNCIL!
The Peninsula Council and the ARC have new email addresses:
Peninsula Council - nsha@peninsulacouncil.com
ARC - arc@peninsulacouncil.com
please make a note of the changes.
Neighborhood Watch
The homeowners of New Seabury must continue to be vigilant in keeping theirs eyes and ears open for suspicious activities. A call to the police may not stop the specific activity but may help deter the next incident. Recently mailboxes were damaged in Highwood and, believe it or not, a bobcat tractor was reportedly stolen in Greensward Village.
So please if you hear or see something, "drop a dime", it may help secure our village. Mashpee Police: 508-539-1480
Peninsula Security: 508-477-7303

Security Update
The Peninsula Council has had meetings with the Chief of Police of Mashpee, Rodney Collins, about various matters. One being how to deal with the excessive speed on New Seabury roads but that is subject for another time. The Chief tells us that New Seabury villages and roads are on the routine patrols of cruisers at this time of the year which means the on duty cruiser passes thru randomly. The randomness is part of the approach so a pattern of coverage is never established. The cruisers are visiting our community 7 days a week, 24 hours a day.
The Peninsula Council has also contracted with a private security firm to provide additional security for our community, which is shared by all villages of New Seabury. This service should be visible as the cars are clearly marked, 'Security' and has flashing yellow lights to help visibility. They are looking for any suspicious looking activities anywhere in the community.
If a homeowner sees any activity that they consider suspicious they should feel free to call these numbers:
Mashpee Police: 508-539-1480
Peninsula Security: 508-477-7303
Of course, if a true emergency occurs then you should call 911.
